Suitable for standard acetylene-oxygen welding and cutting operations with very good cost efficiency in grade R. Basically, Grade T is for a variety of fuel gasses (propane, etc.) more oil resistant and high temperature resistant; also used on shipyards or heavy industry application due to its tough operating environment. If you are Requiring for general Factory use then Grade R is your answer, but if you’re operating in a severe environment then please try to find the Grade T welding gas hoses.
Mixed use is not recommended. Welding gas hoses have special rubber lining that resist fuel gas permeation and are more expensive to manufacture while the normal air hose can not transfer acetylene or oxygen safely as well (4). Welding gas hoes should be used solely to deliver welding and cutting gases and are not intended as substitutes for air compressor hoses.
Evenly damaged hoses are the most common cause of several problems, so be aware of things like over-pressurization, cuts or scratches with sharp objects, contact with oil or chemicals, and hose aging. Do not drag the hose over sharp edges or corners in normal use and check for the external damage of your hoses regularly, replace the hose if you see cracks and bulges, as this would compromise safety during welding & cutting operations.
