Agricultural spray hoses are not recommended for paint or coatings. These hoses contain an inner layer, billed as a pesticide liner, that is not resistant to paint solvents. If the solvents come into contact with the hose, this type of materials will swell. Spray painting, or other types of coatings—So long as you are choosing hoses for solvent resistance that won’t age or wear out rapidly.
Refers to the maximum component of the safe operating pressure in prolonged operation Burst pressure — This is the pressure at which the hose will break and fail. Select the hose according to the maximum operating output pressure of the equipment (Pmax). So in effect, the working pressure of the hose should be more than that of the equipment pressure to maintain a comfortable safety margin.
Choose a spray hose with an anti-twist design whenever possible. Do not twist the hose hard while you are using it and do not keep it in a very small bent position when it is storing. If kinking is a common occurrence, a swivel fitting can be placed to help reduce any twisting and tangling when the hose is running.
At the end of the day, wash out the hose in clean water to remove any pesticides, coatings or solvents. This stops the liquid from remaining inside and corroding the inner layer. Then store the hose in a cool, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight; do not leave heavy materials piled onto it and you should avoid storing it with sharp bends.
